Right C3 is proud to announce the Third Prize winner of the Senior Survey Scholarship Contest! Jennifer Kaniova of Cape Coral, FL was named the $1,000 Third Prize Winner.
Jennifer told Right C3 that she plans to attend Jacksonville University and study psychology. She’s very happy with her choice. “It’s a small, private school. I don’t like a lot of students in one classroom.” She’s looking forward to meeting new people, trying new experiences, and being an adult.
Ultimately, Jennifer plans on getting her master’s degree in occupational and rehab therapy and hopes to be able to work with Army veterans. “I like helping people and I have a friend that is currently serving in the Army, so I saw the need.”
Jennifer has already hit a major milestone since will be the first in her family to graduate high school and go to college. She lives with her mom, who had a huge impact on her success and is very proud of her daughter. Jennifer also credits her Grandma for “always reminding me that I can do it” as well as her dog, Symba, who was “always there for emotional support.”
In high school, Jennifer was very active. She was a cheerleader, athletic trainer, and an officer in both the Key Club and National Honors Society. Some of her favorite memories are lunch with her close friends and her relationships with her teachers. Still, she does wish she had done some things differently; “I wish I had taken my freshman year more seriously. I also had senioritis and should have put more effort in before graduating.”
And yet, Jennifer is well on her way towards success in her college career. She credits Right C3’s tutoring program for keeping her on track academically; “If I needed help with math, I could just go on the website and get the help that I needed.” She encourages future students to also take their high school career seriously. “Stay on top of your test scores, and always put effort into your school work. It will pay off. Don’t give up!”
