Right C3 is proud to announce Justin Colon as the second prize winner of our survey scholarship this year. He is attending Ringling College of Art and Design this fall, and plans to major in film. Justin is also considering minoring in video game design as he continues to explore creative possibilities. His ultimate goal is to one day become a film director. He will receive $1,500 for his participation in our graduating senior survey.
Justin has always had an affinity for the fine arts. He enjoys playing guitar, drawing, gaming, and fitness. He was naturally drawn to becoming a film director at a young age, and he has never lost sight of his passion. He hopes that the industry connections of Ringling College of Art and Design will help propel him towards his goal. Justin was able to make good use of the Right C3 program. He appreciated being able to contact the coaches by phone and ask them questions, and he made full use of the in-depth database and college lists to help choose the school that was right for him.
Justin attended a public high school before switching to an online virtual high school. He was able to experience the social aspect of a public school, but also the singular discipline of focusing purely on his academics with the virtual school. Justin would recommend younger students to find a person or group that will help support them, and to stay involved and use all their available resources.
He is looking forward to going to a college where he will be surrounded by like-minded individuals and people that can help him cultivate his creative passions. He is planning on participating in the environmentalist club, faith club, and plans to pursue work-study.
Justin’s drive and motivation are matched only by his excitement to enter the field he loves. Right C3 wishes him the best of luck on his way to becoming a film director!
