Right C3 is excited to announce the Second Prize winner of our Senior Survey Scholarship Contest. John Ogungbemi of Maryland was chosen and will receive $250! He will attend Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University at the beginning of 2021 to pursue an aerospace engineering degree.
John chose this college because of its engineering program. In his view it is known for strong academics in engineering, and in aerospace engineering in particular. He is excited to learn new things, meet new people,and have new experiences as he leaves home.
Initially, John wanted to be a pilot. He switched his career goals to work more with the design of planes. He has a great love for the STEM field, which is one of the reasons why this field is a good match for his skills.
In high school John was involved in several engineering-related clubs. He was part of the robotics club, which gave him a chance to learn more with his engineering pursuits. John was also a member of the National Society of Black Engineers to connect with others in his field. He also enjoyed being part of the art club at his school where he was able to think about designs. John enjoyed lots of experiences with his friends in high school and enjoyed connecting with them by working on assignments together.
John’s family is from Nigeria and his parents attended college before coming to the United States. They are very proud of John for his hard work and his high grades in high school. John credits his family for supporting him.
John credits Right C3 for assisting him with both the ACT and SAT preparation. By using our test prep he was able to prepare for both tests and saw his scores improve. He also shared that through the college resources of Right C3 he was able to broaden his college search.
John’s favorite quote is, “Yesterday is history, tomorrow is a mystery, and today is a gift. That’s why we call it the present.” We know that John has been successful in the past and we wish him the best in the future. Keep up the good work John!
