Right C3 is excited to announce the Second Prize winner of
our Senior Survey Scholarship Contest. Austin Weil of Palmyra, Virginia was
chosen to be our $1,500 winner!
Austin has been accepted to Full Sail University’s Game
Design program for the fall 2019 semester, and he plans to live at home taking
online classes for his first two years. Through this program, he will earn his
bachelor’s degree in the first two years before moving to Full Sail’s Florida campus
to complete an on-campus Master’s program in Game Design. Austin tells Right C3
that he looked at other schools, but they didn’t seem to have the right program
for him. He felt that Full Sail’s program, though, would be able to teach him
what he needed to learn for his future career.
While Austin originally planned to pursue a career in
teaching, gaming and game design have been a lifelong passion of his. He tells
us that he particularly loves the
franchise. Playing games as a child, he became interested in how those
games were designed. Austin says that he is excited to finally start learning
how to do what he loves.
Austin enjoys playing football outside with his brother. He also works a
part-time job and plans to continue working throughout his time in college.
What he loved most about high school were the people. He liked hanging out with
friends and getting to know his teachers’ personalities and teaching styles.
While he wouldn’t change anything about his own high school experience, he
would encourage younger students to get an early start when preparing for
college, and suggests they “don’t wait until it’s the last moment!”
Austin credits Right C3 with helping him find the right
colleges and learn more about financial aid and his career. He explains that he
read our regular emails and found them very helpful, and he also made use of
the college profiles in his Right C3 account to learn more about his options.
Overall, in his survey, Austin told us that the Right C3 program helped him
make the “correct choices.”
Austin tells us that his father was one of the people who most
influenced his college journey. He says that his father inspired him to push
ahead to do whatever he wanted and go after what he dreamed of. Austin believes
his parents are proud of the way he makes decisions and takes care of his
responsibilities. We at Right C3 believe that Austin has a bright future ahead
of him. Congratulations, Austin, and best wishes!
