Right C3 Announces Grand Prize Winner!

Right C3 is proud to announce the Grand Prize winner of our Senior Survey Scholarship Contest. Savana Linder of Arvada, Colorado won the$2,500 Grand Prize in our drawing!

Savana tells Right C3 that she plans to attend the University of Wyoming this fall, where she will major in Business and minor in Fine Arts. She says that she wants to pursue a career in Marketing, but she also has a passion for Photography which she plans to develop while in college. She also plans to attend graduate school after college to obtain her Master’s degree. Savana explained that there was a time when it seemed like she had a different career interest every day, but she slowly narrowed it down to Marketing by talking to people in different career fields and using Right C3’s Career Assessment. She tells us that she is very excited about the creative opportunities this field offers.

Savana was accepted to every college she applied to, a point of pride for both her and her parents, so she had a lot of options to choose from when making her final college decision. While University of Wyoming is an out-of-state college for Savana, she says it became her top choice based on their price and their financial aid offer. When she visited the campus, she also liked the fact that it was a smaller school and seemed to have a close-knit community.

In high school, Savana was very involved in activities both in and outside of school. She participated in Art Club, Yoga, and Westernaires, which is a horseback riding club. In her free time, she hung out with her friends, rode her horse, and went to lots of concerts. She tells us that she loved her community of friends in high school and being able to do things together with them. Despite how involved Savana was, she says that if she could change anything about her high school experience, she would get even more involved and attend more of her school’s games.

During her time in the Right C3 program, Savana tells us that the coaches were always available to answer her questions and help calm her nerves about the college admissions process. She says that the coaches helped her with both bigger steps, such as choosing right-fit colleges and careers, and smaller details, such as meeting financial aid deadlines. She said that through the program she was able to compare colleges side by side to see what she liked about different ones.

Savana tells us she would also encourage younger students to look into the college options they are considering because “they might not be the right fit.” She recommends other students get an early start on their college planning as well, even if they aren’t sure what they are interested in yet.

What Savana says she is most looking forward to in college is the freedom to make her own choices and the new atmosphere and big changes that will come with going out-of-state. She plans to work, get as involved as she can, and meet as many new friends as she can. Right C3 is excited for Savana as she starts this new chapter in her life, and we wish her all the best!
